Sky Blue FC announced that they have official deals with a half-dozen players: three international players and three domestic players.
Team release here.
The six signings are Rosana (Brazil), Sarah Walsh (Australia), Collette McCallum (Australia), Cori Alexander (Portland), Keeley Dowling (Tennessee), and Jenny Hammond
Rosana and Walsh were selected in the WPS International Draft in September, while McCallum was a post-draft discovery player.
Alexander, Dowling, and Hammond were added in October's General Draft.
Really no earth-shaking news here; all six players were assumed to be locked up by The Blue, but official word is always nice.
One note from this release that interested me: teams are allowed to carry 28 players through preseason. The league allows a maximum of 22 players on the regular season roster.
Sky Blue FC will hold their open and invitational tryouts on February 25th and 26th before heading south to North Carolina on February 28th for preseason camp. The Blue will play North Carolina and the Washington Freedom during this camp.
